Political and Presidential Works
Since 2004, I’ve been making ceramic sculptures of American political subjects, including a ballot box every four years that documents the contests from the conventions up through the inauguration. I found the politicians perplexing or intriguing, especially the women, who aspired to the highest profiles either as wives or to the presidency. These women are in the form of sphinxes, enigmatic mythical beings.
